Very Devoted Mother and Grandmother
Jean Wilder Holt, 83 of Roanoke Rapids died Monday, February 28, 2011 at Wake Medical Center.
Jean was a native of Halifax County, the daughter of the late George Jackson Wilder and Martha Warren Wilder. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Owen Holt.
She is survived by three daughters, Pamela H. Morris and her husband, Tony, of Lake Gaston, Linda Julian of Holly Springs, NC and Deborah H. Powell and her husband, Winfield Powell, Jr. of Roanoke Rapids; two sons, Owen Holt and his wife Kathy, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Ronnie Holt and his wife, Wendy, of Roanoke Rapids; nine grandchildren, Billy Johnson, Jennifer Gray, Paul Hughes and his wife, Brande, Robert Hughes, Winfield Powell, III, Brooke Powell, Kristen Kennedy, and her husband, Eddie, Ronnie W. Holt, II, and Brad Holt; eleven great-grandchildren, Phillip Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Blake Johnson, Candice Hancock, Jamie Johnson, Mallory Gray, Kenley Gray, Trey Johnston, Charisma Kennedy, Kaylee Kennedy and Evan Kennedy; one great-great grandchild, Hunter Johnson; one sister, Catherine Lassiter Odom, of Tarboro; special friends, Jan and Ritchie Draper, special friend and hairdresser, Carolyn Barnes, and her beloved dog, Rocky.
Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 2, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
